What if you could predict your chance of developing a disease years before symptoms appear? A generative AI model developed by researchers at EMBL, the DKFZ German Cancer Research Center, and the University of Copenhagen (Københavns Universitet) can estimate long-term disease risk across more than 1,000 medical conditions – including Alzheimer's, cancer, and heart attacks. To develop the model, the researchers used anonymised health data from the UK Biobank and rigorously tested it using Danish health data. The team hopes that one day the AI model could help inform healthcare and research professionals how a patient’s health might change over the next decade. #EMBL_AI
