Week six. The fruit that decides what happens when no one is watching. Goodness. The Koine Greek word is agathosyne. It describes goodness not as a private virtue but as moral character expressed in action, integrity that shows up in what a person actually does. Goodness with a spine to it. That matters, because in this work almost everything that counts happens with no witnesses. A bedside at 4am. A bath. A meal fed slowly to someone who cannot feed themselves. There is no inspector in the room for most of it. Only you, and a person who very often cannot tell anyone how they were treated. Agathosyne is doing exactly right by that person especially because no one would know if you didn't. It is the integrity that fills the gap between the rules and the reality. A home is only as good as its worst unwatched moment. At Fruits of the Spirit, the standard does not drop when the door closes. That is not a policy. It is the reason the home exists. #Caregiving #SeniorCare #AdultFamilyHome #DementiaCare
