🌬️ As we celebrate Global Wind Day today, we recognize that the value of offshore wind extends beyond clean electricity. It supports energy independence, regional cooperation and a more secure energy future for Europe. What role can offshore wind play in a world where energy security and climate ambitions must advance hand in hand? 📜 A recent master's thesis examining Estonia's energy transition highlights an important shift in the conversation around renewable energy. Offshore wind is increasingly seen not only as a tool for reducing emissions, but also as a strategic asset that can strengthen energy security and resilience. The study highlights ELWIND as an example of a pioneering approach to offshore wind development. As a joint Estonian-Latvian initiative, ELWIND is carrying out the studies and permitting activities needed to prepare a future offshore wind area in the Baltic Sea, creating a foundation for long-term renewable energy production and cross-border cooperation.
