The fourth edition of the Elia Academic Board brought together leading academics from top Belgian universities and Elia experts to drive forward innovation in the energy world. ⚡ The mission of the Academic Board is: 🔹 to explore joint projects and synergies that deliver real-world solutions for the Belgian energy system, and 🔹 to facilitate transparency and open dialogue on Elia’s strategic decisions. This year’s discussions focused on key challenges shaping the grid of tomorrow — from flexibility provision to grid reliability, cyber-physical security, and risk-based power system management. Academics also shared cutting-edge work on market design innovations and grid-forming converter control, while Elia experts provided insights on grid connections, system stability, and exploring different scenarios for the grid of the future. 📈 It was inspiring to see such rich exchanges between academia and industry, reaffirming our shared commitment to a secure, sustainable, and future-ready energy system. 👏 #Innovation #Research #Collaboration #AcademicPartnerships #EnergyTransition Frederic Dunon, James Matthys-Donnadieu, Loïc Tilman, Lora Ivanova, Eva Schramm, Peter Van Meirhaeghe, Christophe Caucheteur, Damien Ernst, Dirk Van Hertem, Emmanuel De Jaeger, Francois Vallee, Geert Deconinck, Jan Desmet, Jef Beerten, Louis Wehenkel, Pierre Henneaux, Adrien Bolland Quentin Delhaye, Mohammad Moradzadeh Anna Tsiokanos, Herman Carstens, Walter Geelen, Kris Hallaert, Rafael Feito Kiczak, Michaël Piron, Tanguy Demol, Guillaume Van der Schueren, Jan Spriet, PhD, Maria H., Nils Charels, Fortunato Villella, Aymen Chaouachi, Tanguy PETRE, Sébastien Jansens
