What does European cooperation look like in practice? This week, it was on full display at our Neuenhagen site. 50Hertz Transmission GmbH, part of Elia Group, welcomed the Prime Minister of Brandenburg, Dr. Dietmar Woidke, together with the Belgian Ambassador to Germany, H.E. Piet Heirbaut, for a visit hosted alongside Stefan Kapferer, CEO of 50Hertz. Walking through the site and substation, the discussion quickly moved beyond infrastructure. It was a tangible reminder that our electricity systems don’t stop at national borders. They are part of a highly interconnected European network, where collaboration is essential. As Stefan Kapferer put it: “Building a resilient and affordable electricity system is not something any country can achieve alone. It requires efficient network development, a balanced integration of generation, and, above all, strong cross-border cooperation.” This is exactly what drives us at Elia Group. Every day, across our entities, we work to strengthen power system integration and move the energy transition forward, for citizens, industry and the regions we serve. #EliaGroup #50Hertz #StrongerTogether #EnergyTransition #EuropeanCooperation #PowerSystem
