Achieving Excellence in Safety is an important goal that was reached by our ELG Utica Alloys facility in Duisburg in 2025. After 6 incidents that were recorded in 2024, the team was able to avoid any accidents the following year – which rightfully earned them our internal #SafetyAward “Safety Champions 2025”. “At Aperam Recycling, health and safety is our top priority. We are very proud of what our team has achieved, but we are not resting on our laurels; we see this as an incentive to continue doing even more every day to ensure the safety of us all. As a management team, we will continue to participate more actively in safety rituals in order to listen to employees, learn from them and work with them to further improve the safety culture.” – Marcel Engels, Managing Director and Head of Commercial Utica Germany “Over the past year, we have increasingly highlighted the impact of manual sorting on the potential risk of hand injuries and have worked with employees to develop measures and procedures to reduce these risks. All in all, awareness of the latent risks in everyday work has been increased through daily toolbox meetings, or weekly meetings with safety engineer @Jörg Potesil and joint tours of the departments.” – Markus Wulf, Head of Operations Utica Duisburg Congratulations to the whole team in #Duisburg for this collective effort that paid off with tremendous success and healthy and safe people in the organisation. #WorkSafety #HealthAndSafety #SafetyCulture #AperamRecycling #ExcellenceInSafety #Achievement
