Yesterday, after posting my completely objective and scientifically questionable Spain vs. Argentina comparison, I thought I should make a small peace offering to Spain. Nothing dramatic. Just lunch. I went on Instacart looking for Jamón Ibérico. Serrano would have been perfectly acceptable too. I felt this was a mature, diplomatic gesture after awarding Argentina an entirely unreasonable 10,000-point Messi bonus. Unfortunately, none of the nearby stores had either. So I settled for prosciutto. Then I looked at my sandwich. Ciabatta. Prosciutto. Arugula. Roasted tomatoes. Olive oil. Apparently, I didn’t make peace with Spain. Somehow, Italy won lunch. 🇮🇹😆 The Messi Review Committee has approved this compromise. PA: Spain, I really did try.
