Anyone that knows me, knows that I would love the Royal Canin #Nutriverse … Consumer Products. Science. Pets. Emotion. Purpose … And how I did! Most of us will never visit the labs where #PetNutrition is developed. Last night, #RoyalCanin brought that world to a beautiful sunny Paris. I was invited to the preview reception for The Nutriverse at La Gaite Lyrique, ahead of its public opening. It is one of the more unusual and special brand experiences I’ve had. You step right inside the science. Literally. Through a series of immersive rooms, Royal Canin explores five nutrients that quietly shape the health of cats and dogs. DHA, showing how an omega 3 fatty acid supports brain and vision development during the earliest stages of life. Sodium, and the role it plays in hydration, nerve signalling, muscle contraction and maintaining the body’s balance. Hydrolysed proteins, broken into tiny fragments to make them easier to digest and suitable for animals with dietary sensitivities. Then into the microbiome. FOS, prebiotics that feed beneficial bacteria already living in the gut. MOS, helping prevent harmful bacteria from attaching to the intestinal wall, supporting natural gut defences. One section is all about the Royal Canin Foundation, established in 2020. It supports projects that strengthen the human animal bond through search and rescue dogs, assistance animals and therapy animals. Since its launch it has backed 34 projects across 22 countries, with more than 520 cats and dogs and supporting around 34,400 people, including six rescued this week from the earthquake rubble in Venezuela by Hunter, the collie, in this picture. Dogs helping detect ovarian cancer. Cats supporting children in hospital. Search and rescue from earthquakes and war. Therapy dogs working with children with autism. Assistance dogs helping people regain independence. Children and young adults traumatised by the war in Ukraine. Amazing. A family of animal lovers, that really got me. Two Airedales. Charlie-Girl, now in remission from lymphoma (diagnosed a year to the day [thank you AURA Veterinary]). Jack-Dog, living happily with hip dysplasia. Bengal Kitty-Cat-Kai, managing kidney disease. Rescue cats Bumble Bee, a cheeky calico with one eye, and Siren, an Arabian Mau, who has very little sight. We’ve experienced first hand how animals shape our lives. We help them. But they help us so much more. It was super smart that Royal Canin chose an immersive exhibition rather than some kind of product showcase. In #ConsumerProducts we spend billions developing better products. How do you explain decades of research, thousands of scientific papers and years of product development in a way that someone understands in a few minutes? Royal Canin’s answer wasn’t another advertising campaign. Or products. It was to invite people inside the science. Making the invisible visible. Thank You for the invite Cecile Coutens. I loved the Royal Canin Nutriverse Paris.
