It is possible to stop plastic pollution. What is needed is a treaty with clear and efficient common rules, such as product bans and design and material requirements. Negotiators are meeting in Nairobi this week and I totally agree with WWF Global Plastic Policy Lead Silje Woxholth Sørfonn: focus on the measures that matters! We know what is needed and a large majority of countries have already supported those measures. Now let's cheer on the country representatives to go ahead and make it happen! And in my opinion, if essential elements are taken off the table here, groups of countries should go ahead and find other venues for adopting them.
