Advancing Energy Storage Research with StoRIES and PROTEAS At PROTEAS, we provide a platform for testing and developing innovative energy solutions. Our facility specializes in: - Concentrating Solar Thermal (CST) - Thermal Energy Storage (TES) - Hybrid energy systems We integrate multiple renewable energy sources to support cutting-edge research that bridges the gap between concept and commercialization. As part of the StoRIES Project initiative, PROTEAS contributes to a European-wide effort to enhance energy storage technologies. StoRIES brings together 32 partners from 17 countries, including leading research institutions, universities, and industry partners. The goal is to: - Improve the economic performance of storage technologies - Advance materials - Optimize hybrid energy systems - Address socio-technical and environmental challenges We were pleased to host Prof. Efstathios (Stathis) Stiliaris from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens. With a strong background in experimental nuclear physics and solar energy instrumentation, Prof. Stiliaris brings valuable expertise in simulation and control systems. His insights contribute to the ongoing research within StoRIES, helping to refine energy storage solutions for real-world applications. By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and open knowledge exchange, PROTEAS continues to support research efforts that drive sustainable energy forward. Through partnerships like StoRIES, we work towards making energy storage technologies more competitive and accessible. StoRIES Partners: - Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) - AIT Austrian Institute of Technology - CIEMAT - CLERENS - Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche - CSIC - DTU - Technical University of Denmark - European Association for Storage of Energy - ECCSEL ERIC - EDF - EERA - ENEA - Eni - Forschungszentrum Jülich - SINTEF Head of PROTEAS: Marios C.
