Yesterday, we launched the first city-backed VC internship program in NYC! Big congratulations to the 23 students selected out of a pool of 675 applications! This program with New York City Economic Development Corporation, The City University of New York IAR, Everywhere Ventures, Kauffman Fellows, Morrison Foerster, Carta, Perkins Coie is the embodiment of the New York spirit. We are the most diverse city in the world—where 8,000 languages are spoken, where immigrants and first-generation Americans build dreams into reality every day. Our vision is for New York’s innovation landscape to be as diverse and representative as the city itself. It’s been very heartwarming seeing the entire ecosystem rally together to support our mission. From the VCs offering internship (and fellowship) opportunities, to speakers who are training our students this week, to the VC mentors: Thank you for opening your doors, sharing your knowledge, and uplifting the next generation of New York City venture capital. These 23 students will spend the next 9-10 weeks learning from you, working alongside you, and hopefully challenging some of your assumptions along the way. Here’s to proving that when you open doors, magic happens. Excited for what the future of VC looks like, New York style. 🗽🚀 https://lnkd.in/evfkqz_6 Robin Hood Blue Ridge Labs Thomson Reuters Ventures Visible Hands Commonweal Ventures Watershed Ventures L'ATTITUDE VENTURES MetaProp Streetlife Ventures VamosVentures Antler Open Opportunity Fund 25madison Loeb.nyc Newlab AIN Ventures Plum Alley Ventures Company Divergent Capital Lockstep Ventures Interwoven Ventures cc: Jonathan Schulhof Daria Siegel Brian Shoicket Melissa Lent Erin Lee Fernando M.
