Thirty-four Vietnamese students have been awarded New Zealand Schools Scholarships and will begin their secondary education journey in Aotearoa in 2026, reflecting record demand for the programme. Since launching in 2019, the New Zealand Schools Scholarships (NZSS) programme has supported more than 100 Vietnamese students to study at schools across the country, strengthening people-to-people connections and long-term education pathways. This year’s strong interest highlights the continued confidence Vietnamese families place in New Zealand’s high-quality, student-centred education system, and the growing role of schools as a pathway into further study.
