INSIDE XPONENTIAL 2026 // Modular, automated, connected. That was the focus of EDAG’s presentation at XPONENTIAL Europe 2026 in Düsseldorf. Gerhard K., Head of Program Management at EDAG Group, and Adam S., Head of Business Development at AIR, highlighted how smart aircraft like the AIR ONE eVTOL provide unmatched operational flexibility. Designed for both manned and unmanned operations, it adapts to diverse missions, from urban cargo transport to advanced heavy-lift UAS applications. Its modular architecture, including folding wings and adaptable cabin spaces, allows it to respond to evolving operational requirements. EDAG develops and produces the main structure, focusing on lightweight design, system integration, and enabling reliable autonomous flight. The presentation explored the technical challenges and solutions that make the system scalable and adaptable to both civilian and military contexts, where reliability, adaptability, and ease of operation are critical. Visitors can experience a 1:5 scale model at Hall 1 / C27, developed with AIR, showcasing the foldable wings and modular design.
