Who know a haunted castle could look this good? 👻 This castle is located at the south corner of Chemnitz, and goes by the name Wasserschloss Klaffenbach. It was built in the 16th century, and it has been a renowned landmark since then. Today couples can get married at the wedding hall which, legend has it, haunted by the ghost of Maiden of Taube. She rejected a marriage proposal from the Lord of Rabenstein, whereupon her angry father had her walled up alive in the castle tower. This architectural gem with its spectacular roof structure is an ambivalent site of memory: today a popular setting for family occasions, but it used to be a correctional facility for youth during GDR times.
