Last week, ECLA had the privilege to take part in the IV Annual Conference of the European Commission Legal Service in Brussels, Belgium. The conference focused on two defining questions for Europeβs future: πHow do we build aΒ genuine European Defence UnionΒ within the existing legal framework? πCanΒ simplification of EU lawΒ truly unlock competitiveness without compromising standards? Bringing together high-level policymakers, legal experts, and institutional leaders, the conference highlighted a crucial reality: Europeβs ability to act in a rapidly changing geopolitical and economic environment depends not only on political ambitionβbut onΒ robust, adaptable legal foundations! What stood out most was the depth of dialogue across institutions and disciplines. From defense policy to industrial competitiveness, the discussions made one thing clear: π The future of the European Union will be shaped whereΒ law, strategy, and innovation intersect. It is on us to build this future together! For ECLA, participating in these exchanges is not just about being presentβitβs about contributing to a broader conversation on how European law can remain a driver of stability, competitiveness, and collective strength. π¬ πΎπππβπ ππππ ππππβπππ ππππππππππππππ πππ ππππππππ πππππππππππ ππ ππππ ππ ππππ ππ πππ ππβπ π¬πππππ?
