In the words of President Odile Renaud-Basso, the EBRD is once again playing a critical role in keeping Chornobyl safe. Together with Ukraine and the international community, we are working to repair the New Safe Confinement, the arch which shields the remains of the destroyed, Soviet-era reactor. The EBRD’s work in Chornobyl is currently supported by the European Commission, the French Ministry of Economy and Finance, Ministère des Affaires étrangères français, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Direktoratet for strålevern og atomsikkerhet (DSA), Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, Global Affairs Canada | Affaires mondiales Canada, Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection, the TaiwanBusiness-EBRD Technical Cooperation Fund, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Belgium and Ministero dell'economia e delle finanze.
