I was truly delighted to attend a very special reception celebrating more than 15 years of the Cairo Liaison Office of Freie Universität Berlin, held at Al-Azhar Park in Cairo on April 2, 2026. The reception was organized in honor of the visit of Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Günter M. Ziegler, President of Freie Universität Berlin, and his accompanying delegation to Cairo. It was a true pleasure and honor to meet Prof. Ziegler in person and engage in such a distinguished gathering. My heartfelt thanks to Ms. Hoda El Mahgoub, Head of the Cairo Liaison Office of Freie Universität Berlin, not only for the excellent organization of this memorable event, but also for her dedicated work and fruitful cooperation over several years in Cairo. It is also worth noting that Freie Universität Berlin ranked first in hosting fellows of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation during the period 2018–2022, among 130 universities and more than 400 non-university research institutions across Germany, underscoring its excellence as a hub for international academic collaboration. It was truly a wonderful evening and also a great opportunity to reconnect with my dear colleagues, friends, and partners.💚 💐
