Marion Revel, postdoctoral scientist at Eawags’ department for environmental toxicology received the Lush young researcher prize. 🏆 The Lush prizes award projects that contribute towards ending the use of animals in research, testing and education. In her research, Marion works with the so-called fish invitrome: A computational framework that uses fish cells to assess environmental risks of chemicals – without using live fish. She explores in her research why these methods are not yet widely used in research and collaborates with social scientists and different stakeholders in order to accelerate their regulatory uptake. “It is also important to me that animal experimentation is replaced because science should evolve alongside our knowledge and our values. Receiving this prize is a beautiful reminder that I am not alone in thinking this way, and it gives me a lot of energy and motivation to keep going in this direction,” says Marion. Congratulations!
