St Mark’s Primary School, in Barrhead, is growing something special. 🌳🐝 By making nature part of everyday learning, the school is helping to boost biodiversity, support wellbeing and build a lasting connection with the environment for pupils, staff and the wider community. So far, 420 tree whips, 14 more developed trees and bulbs have been planted by pupils, staff and families. 🌱 Pupils have played a leading role in designing and shaping the space, with all classes getting involved in regular grounds work sessions. Native wildflowers and grasses are now transforming the grounds into a vibrant ecosystem, creating a thriving habitat for local wildlife. Supported by East Renfrewshire Council’s Get to Zero team and Future Woodlands Scotland, this project shows how strong partnerships, hands-on learning and community effort can help grow a more sustainable future. 🌍 #EastRen #OutdoorLearning #UrbanForestry
