Environmental Earth Systems Science Undergraduate at NTU

Field Notes 01: The 30-Legged Sprinter I grew up watching nature documentaries and I have always dreamt of being the one behind the scenes. So, during my last winter break, I went to Mandai T15 trail in the night to see what I could find. This video features the π˜›π˜©π˜¦π˜³π˜¦π˜Άπ˜°π˜±π˜°π˜₯𝘒 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨π˜ͺ𝘀𝘰𝘳𝘯π˜ͺ𝘴 (Long-legged centipede). Creepy stuff 😢. As an Environmental Earth Systems Science undergraduate at NTU, I’ve been learning about evolutionary trade-offs. Unlike the heavily armored 𝘚𝘀𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯π˜₯𝘳𝘒, the π˜›π˜©π˜¦π˜³π˜¦π˜Άπ˜°π˜±π˜°π˜₯𝘒 is designed for speed, optimising its Risk-Sensitive Foraging. I recently took some footage from my adventure and made a nature journal for one of my modules. It was a great exercise to apply what I believe into motion: Science is to be experienced. Thanks to the team for making this possible Cinematography: Kayle P. (captured on Fujifilm X-S20).
