#EASA Executive Director Florian Guillermet was in Austria for a visit centred on the first Austria EASA Industry Summit, convened by the Federal Ministry for Innovation, Mobility and Infrastructure (BMIMI - Bundesministerium für Innovation, Mobilität und Infrastruktur). At the Summit, Federal Minister Peter Hanke and Florian Guillermet joined the leadership of Austria's aviation sector - manufacturers and suppliers, Austrian Airlines, Flughafen Wien - Vienna Airport, Austro Control, research institutions and start-ups. Florian set out EASA's direction: a partnership-based European system moving towards a safety continuum. As Austria shapes its new national Aviation strategy, this Summit is the start of a continuing dialogue. The visit also included the control tower, meteorological and emergency control room at Vienna Airport; RTA Rail Tec Arsenal's Vienna Climatic Wind Tunnel, which conducts tests against snow, ice and freezing rain under realistic conditions; and the facilities of Diamond Aircraft Industries Deutschland and Schiebel in Wiener Neustadt.
