Some moments don't just make history, they make little girls believe they belong in it. 🏁  Katherine Legge joined Billie Jean King, two of our empowered.legendary.females., Abby Wambach and Julie Foudy on the Welcome to the Party podcast for a conversation that was equal parts raw, electric and real.  The episode, titled "The Most Dangerous Challenge in Sports?" centers on Katherine's attempt at "The Double" where she competed in both the Indianapolis 500 and NASCAR's Coca-Cola 600 on the same day.  Two of the most demanding races in motorsport.    Same day.  One driver.  That alone is a story worth telling. But the conversation goes somewhere deeper.  Katherine  didn't just talk about speed and stamina. She talked about what it actually takes...the preparation, the resilience, the mental discipline required to compete at the absolute highest level of motorsports.    The conversation highlighted what it means to keep showing up in a sport that wasn't always built with you in mind and what changes when someone finally decides to show up for you.  That's the signal that introduced e.l.f. to Katherine four years ago, and we’ve never looked back.  "e.l.f. with me, and their activations… they changed the face of racing for women,” said Katherine.  Her first e.l.f. car at INDY, became a symbol, a rallying point, an unexpected act of solidarity. "Until e.l.f. came along, I hadn't really broken through. [With] the pink car, there was this bizarre solidarity with all the women in Indianapolis… they were all cheering every time the pink car came by… they were like, finally we've been seen… it was a sea of little girls wearing pink e.l.f. jerseys."  Showing up loudly, boldly, in a hot pink race car if necessary, can shift something in the people watching. Especially for every little girl who didn't know she was allowed to love motorsport until she saw someone who looked like her crossing the finish line.  Changing the face of racing was never the plan. It was just what happens when you back the right people and refuse to make yourself small doing it.  This episode is a reminder of why partnerships rooted in authentic belief move differently than sponsorships rooted in logo placements. Katherine didn't just carry our name on her car. She carried it into conversations with one of the greatest athletes of all time, and BIllie Jean King gave us love right back.  To Katherine, thank you for your courage, your candor, and for making every lap in that pink car mean something. We are endlessly proud to be in your lane. 🩷  🎧 Catch the full episode of Welcome to the Party with Katherine and Billie Jean King on: YouTube: https://lnkd.in/eJfmeqaa Spotify: https://lnkd.in/eZbjH_CX Apple Podcasts: https://lnkd.in/e8XgEYAz Trust us, you'll want to hear this one.
