For years, consulting buyers faced a frustrating tradeoff: move fast and sacrifice depth or do a rigorous analysis and sacrifice speed. AI is changing this equation. The shift is not that expertise no longer matters. What is changing is the ability to deliver rigorous analysis faster. Tasks that once required significant consulting hours, gathering information, comparing documentation, summarizing interviews, and identifying inconsistencies, can now move at a different pace. But faster analysis does not replace structured thinking. Without a strong framework, AI can produce polished confusion very quickly. A strong framework does these four things: It decomposes the problem. It turns a vague executive concern into solvable questions. It creates a shared language about value and roadmap - It helps stakeholders talk about the same issue without hiding behind departmental assumptions. It connects strategic analysis to action, grounded in fact. - It keeps discovery tied to decisions. It protects execution. - It creates sequence, ownership, and accountability. The consulting model is not disappearing. It is evolving toward smaller senior-led teams, faster analysis, stronger frameworks, and more structured execution.
