Dynacare continues to advance healthcare through innovative, patient-focused solutions that strengthen diagnostic testing and improve patient outcomes. At the Association of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Disease Canada (AMMI Canada - CACMID Annual Conference) Annual Conference 2026 in St. John’s Newfoundland, Dynacare microbiologists from Brampton Ontario, presented a poster led by Mihaela Serbanescu, Technical Specialist, with support from Cenarit Mazoukh, Intern, and Lee Goneau, Scientific Director. Their research explored an enhanced pre-treatment approach to improve molecular detection of Cyclospora cayetanensis, a challenging gastrointestinal parasite that can be difficult to identify in laboratory testing. As molecular Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) testing continues to transform infectious disease diagnostics, optimizing specimen preparation for hard-to-lyse organisms may help improve sensitivity, reduce missed infections, and support better patient care. Small workflow improvements behind the scenes can make a meaningful difference in identifying infections that might otherwise go undetected. #Microbiology #InfectiousDiseases #LifeSciences
