Today Gojek and Tokopedia officially merged and became a GoTo group. Previously, on April 28, 2021, my article entitled "Menakar Peluang Dua Unicorn Bersatu" was published through Koran Sindo. The article can be read via https://lnkd.in/g8yYjdh page 6 in the opinion column. The merger between Gojek and Tokopedia is predicted to strengthen the position of the two companies among competitors such as Shopee and OVO, which have so far occupied the most extensive online stores and digital wallets in Indonesia. Google, Temasek, and Bain in 2020 reported that by 2025, people in Southeast Asia on purchases in e-commerce, online transportation, and online food ordering would increase by 300 percent with a total of USD214 billion. This will be an excellent opportunity for Gojek and Tokopedia to expand the market and enlarge their companies. #GoTo #gojek #tokopedia #digitaleconomy INDEF (Institute for Development of Economics and Finance) and thanks to Mas Nailul Huda for the insight.
