2025 was a year of new partnerships, innovative programs, and transatlantic exchange at DWIH New York. As part of the STEP USA University Program, eight startups from Germany presented their ideas during the program’s final pitch event in New York, highlighting the strength and creativity of Germany’s innovation ecosystem. New partnerships also shaped our work throughout the year. One example is the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard in Cambridge, Massachusetts, which hosted our 2025 FUTURE FORUM, DWIH New York’s annual flagship event. Global health was a particular focus across the DWIH network in 2025. In New York, this topic brought together several of our core strengths: a dynamic startup ecosystem in the healthcare sector, renowned research institutions, international perspectives on medical education, and science diplomacy as a key tool for addressing global challenges.
