A small robot that can make tea — it sounds unusual at first, but that’s exactly what Christoph Renz built in his free time for himself and his colleagues. “Black tea needs to steep for four minutes. If a call comes in and you forget about the tea, it just doesn’t taste right anymore,” explains our Dürr colleague. You can use a knob to set the steeping time in 30-second intervals. Then all you have to do is insert the tea bag and press the start button, and this little tea-making helper, affectionately known as “Mr. T”, gets to work. It hangs the tea bag in the cup, waits for the set time, removes the tea bag, lets it drip for ten seconds, tosses the tea bag in the trash — now enjoy! 🍵
