#Publication and #patent Alert 💥 Excited to share my first full-length #research article entitled SPROUT: Rapid generation advancement enabled phenotyping platform for chickpea improvement is now published in Plant Stress (Impact factor: 8.1). A patent has been filed for this technology, and the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, has accepted the proposal and released grants. Tie-ups with private companies are successful for initial trials and commercialization. doi: https://lnkd.in/g5WzPahU We demonstrate that the SPROUT platform, integrated with the SpeedSeed protocol, enables season-independent, field-mimicking phenotyping while achieving 8-10 generations per year. The study highlights the potential of integrating rapid generation advancement with high-throughput #phenotyping to accelerate #chickpea cycles, trait discovery, #mutant population, #transgenic lines, and the development of #climate resilient varieties. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Dr.Senthil-Kumar Muthappa for his continuous guidance and support. I am also thankful to Dr. Swarup Kumar Parida and all my co-authors for being a part of this journey and for their valuable contributions. I sincerely acknowledge the National Institute of Plant Genome Research (BRIC-NIPGR), India, for providing excellent research facilities throughout this research work. I would like to thank Dr. MUTHAMILARASAN MEHANATHAN for constant encouragement during this journey.
