What does a college mascot have to do with neuroscience research? For Duke student Nana Osaki, everything. As an undergraduate, she explored how strokes impact language with speech-language pathologist Jamila Minga, PhD CCC-SLP. Her experience as the Blue Devil gave her a unique lens, one rooted in nonverbal connection and real time interaction. That perspective gave her a deeper connection to an overlooked area of stroke research that can improve lives.
