On June 12, 2026, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services issued Proposed Rule CMS-4215-P, which would establish a permanent regulatory framework for the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program created by the Inflation Reduction Act. The proposal would codify numerous aspects of the program that CMS has previously administered through guidance and govern future negotiation cycles beginning with the 2029 initial price applicability year.
