Supporting lifesaving healthcare in Lebanon ✈️ As part of our long-standing partnership with UNICEF, we recently donated another in-kind flight, this time supporting the delivery of emergency medical supplies to Lebanon, where hospitals and frontline health services are under extraordinary pressure. UNICEF estimates that the supplies will help sustain essential healthcare services for approximately 500,000 people over a three-month period. This includes trauma care, maternal and newborn care, and the treatment of acute and infectious conditions. The supplies will be distributed to 11 public hospitals and 150 primary healthcare centres, including facilities supported by UNICEF as well as mobile health units. The shipment – totaling 36 metric tonnes – contained critical medical supplies for UNICEF and WHO, all dispatched from UNICEF’s global supply and logistics hub in Copenhagen. It consisted of 3.5 metric tonnes of supplies from the European Union stockpile hosted at the hub delivered to WHO in Lebanon, and 32.5 metric tonnes of UNICEF supplies mobilised from its own stocks for UNICEF in Lebanon. Through our global network and humanitarian supply chain specialists, we are proud to partner with UNICEF to help them make a tangible difference in the lives of children. Thank you to UNICEF and all partners for their close collaboration under highly challenging conditions.
