The Australian Government has appointed former Commonwealth Ombudsman, Mr Michael Manthorpe PSM, to lead the independent Eighth Anniversary Review of the National Redress Scheme. The review will assess the Scheme’s operation and identify opportunities to strengthen policy, administration and support for survivors of institutional child sexual abuse. Consultation will be open from 1 to 31 July 2026, providing survivors, advocates and participating institutions an opportunity to contribute their insights.
