Investing in Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) is a key focus of the recently released National Child and Family Investment Strategy. The Investment Strategy focuses on shifting funding towards prevention and early supports to reduce child abuse and neglect. It also focuses on directing investment towards the ACCO sector to provide more culturally safe support services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families. We supported SNAICC - National Voice for our Children to lead the development of the strategy in consultation with a range of sector stakeholders. We have also recently published the Changing the Balance report, which highlights how to support the broader sector as we shift funding towards ACCO-led service delivery.
