dSPACE is pleased to introduce its newest company, dSPACE Italia, located in Turin. In a short interview, Managing Director Claudio Sala explains why dSPACE is expanding into Italy at this particular time and how customers will benefit from the local presence. ❓Why is this expansion an important step for dSPACE right now? Claudio Sala: Let's look at it from the customer’s perspective: It is an important step, especially for them. Customers benefit from a straight line of communication with a local team. We are starting with about 15 employees in Turin who will support our customers on-site with tailored solutions for challenging tasks. ❓What areas is your team focusing on? Claudio Sala: We focus on sales, engineering, and customer support. Our overall goal is to make testing more efficient and thereby accelerate development. Especially in the automotive sector – for example, in autonomous driving, e-mobility, or software-defined vehicles – requirements have become significantly more complex, while at the same time everything needs to happen much faster. That is why quick access to in-depth expertise is crucial. ❓What does that mean specifically for customer projects? Claudio Sala: Our customers benefit from shorter response times, more direct coordination, and local technical support. In addition to our traditional strength in the hardware-in-the-loop sector, software-in-the-loop testing is also becoming increasingly important because it enables a shift-left approach and accelerates development processes. ❓Is your offering limited to the automotive sector? Claudio Sala: No, quite deliberately not. In addition to the automotive sector, we also serve non-automotive customers, for example, in the aerospace, agriculture, and mechanical engineering sectors. Many challenges are similar. This is exactly where we can apply our experience and technologies in a targeted manner. ❓Where can we find you? Claudio Sala: For now, my team and I are available via the usual channels and on LinkedIn. The office is currently being set up, and we will invite our customers to an opening TechDay immediately after the summer.
