It is unfortunate the industry is not utilizing (or largely unaware of) research findings on scientific venture building. There are so many examples... Let’s start with this slide from a talk I gave at Shell a while ago where everyone seemed surprised to find out. It is a well-known finding in creativity research that brainstorming is counterproductive in idea generation because it promotes convergent thinking, while creativity in team settings requires divergent thinking.
