🧍‍♂️ Just Published: “The Standing Paradox” 🧍‍♀️ Thrilled to share our new commentary in the Journal of Physical Activity & Health: “The Standing Paradox: Why a Simple Health Behavior Fix Is Not So Simple.” This piece challenges the oversimplified public health message to “just stand more” and explores why standing—like physical activity—is far more complex than it seems. 🔍 Key insights: -Not all standing is created equal: passive vs. active standing may have very different cardiovascular implications. -Current measurement tools & methods oversimplify standing behavior, limiting our understanding of its health impact. -We propose a multidimensional “standing continuum” and call for better methods to track and define standing. This paradox has real implications for public health messaging, workplace wellness, and future research. Excited to contribute to this evolving conversation with an incredible team of collaborators.
