Cancer - not something I expected in my life plan at this age. Having said that it provides an opportunity to see the health system I have tried to help improve for over 30 years from the other side (other than the routine bits and bobs you address with your GP during life). So far the report is mixed lol. Incredibly dedicated clinicians of all types once you get to see them 1:1, but a sadly disconnected and disorganised, surprisingly expensive system that really doesn’t focus much on the patient experience. Interoperability is basically nonexistent, even WITHIN hospital systems! I’ll post more on my journey but the main reason I am mentioning this on LinkedIn is that it will affect my availability and capacity to varying degrees until late 2026.
