On June 5, 2026, the 22nd International Green Building Conference took place at the Suzhou International Expo Center. As part of the sub‑forum on International Green and Low‑Carbon Development, the DGNB China Awards Ceremony and Roundtable Forum were successfully held. Drees & Sommer joined experts from universities, international organizations, developers, and industry associations to discuss the implementation and future development of the DGNB system in China. 👏 The conference highlighted recent DGNB achievements in China across corporate headquarters, R&D facilities, affordable housing, and industrial parks. Notably, the Danfoss Haiyan 2nd Campus earned China’s first DGNB Platinum certification in the industrial category. As the project’s sustainability consultant, Drees & Sommer accepted the award on behalf of the owner, marking an important milestone for the industrial application of DGNB in China. Drees & Sommer Insight: DGNB Industrial Certification Must Align with Real‑World Construction and Operational Logic During the roundtable, Drees & Sommer’s DGNB expert Haiqing Guo shared concise insights drawn from multiple DGNB industrial projects across the Yangtze River Delta. She highlighted that DGNB is not intended only for showcase buildings; instead, it provides practical pathways adaptable to different functions, development models, and operational needs. 📍 A key strength of DGNB industrial certification is its alignment with real factory operations. Beyond energy and environmental performance, it emphasizes: · Logistics efficiency · Loading and unloading zone planning · Separation of pedestrian and vehicle routes · Campus coordination aligned with production flows · Lifecycle carbon and cost transparency She underscored that DGNB(DGNB German Sustainable Building Council) is a process‑driven system, requiring continuous involvement from design and tendering through on‑site construction. Only when sustainability requirements are translated into project, construction, and operational language can DGNB be effectively implemented in industrial settings. Continuing to Drive Low‑Carbon Transformation in Industrial Buildings Drees & Sommer has long been dedicated to the sustainable development of industrial buildings, contributing to exemplary projects such as Danfoss Haiyan 2nd Campus, ifm Suzhou Factory and Schaeffler Taicang New Campus. Moving forward, the company will continue working closely with owners, design teams, and industry partners to help more industrial buildings evolve from “green concepts” to actionable, operable, and sustainable system capabilities. #GreenBuilding #DGNB #LowCarbon
