🚀 A massive, historic shift is unfolding in India’s defense aerospace ecosystem. For the first time in a major fighter jet program, the Indian government has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) —and it has invited three private sector playersto compete, keeping state-owned HAL out of the prototype phase. This Rs 15,000 crore, fully government-funded project is a monumental leap for #MakeInIndia and defense self-reliance. The winning private partner will build five flying prototypes of India's first homegrown 5th-generation stealth fighter jet at a brand-new, 650-acre greenfield facility in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh. 🏢 The Three Contenders in the Race: Tata Advanced Systems The L&T - BEL - Dynamatic consortium The Bharat Forge - BEML - Data Patterns consortium ⏱️ The Timeline Ahead: Early 2027: Contract award expected after detailed bid submissions. 2028–2032: First prototype flight target window. Post-2035: Expected induction into service and series production. 🌐 Entering the Elite 5th-Gen Club Once the AMCA is inducted, India will join an incredibly exclusive club of nations operating 5th-generation stealth fighters (currently only the US, Russia, and China). The twin-engine, single-seat jet will feature advanced stealth coatings, internal weapons bays, an operational ceiling of 55,000 feet, and a massive total weapons payload capacity of 7,000 kg. By putting the private sector in the cockpit of fighter jet manufacturing, India isn't just building a stealth fighter—it is fundamentally transforming its industrial defense base, fostering deeper public-private R&D collaboration with the ADA and DRDO, and speeding up development timelines. #Defense #Aerospace #Aviation #MakeInIndia #AMCA #StealthFighter #IndianDefense #TechInnovation #Manufacturing #NewIndia #MyIndiaMyPride
