For the first time in a major fighter jet program, the Indian government has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) —and it has invited three private sector playersto compete, keeping state-owned HAL out of the prototype phase. Post-2035: Expected induction into service and series production. 🌐 Entering the Elite 5th-Gen Club Once the AMCA is inducted, India will join an incredibly exclusive club of nations operating 5th-generation stealth fighters (currently only the US, Russia, and China). The twin-engine, single-seat jet will feature advanced stealth coatings, internal weapons bays, an operational ceiling of 55,000 feet, and a massive total weapons payload capacity of 7,000 kg.
