Another exciting day in the Interventional Unit! We explored a 13x8 mm PET-positive lung nodule in the left upper lobe of a patient with severe COPD. With the Medtronic Illumisite fluoroscopic navigation platform using our GE OEC Elite C-arm, we achieved precise and very rapid navigation. rEBUS confirmation ensured the catheter was exactly within the nodule, enabling an optimal biopsy with the Arcpoint Pulmonary Needle. Diagnosis: Squamous Cell Carcinoma. It’s inspiring and motivating to see how advanced imaging, navigation and interventional pulmonology technologies along with a multidisciplinary approach lead to improve diagnosis and streamline clinical management, ensuring personalized patients case. When expertise comes together, outcomes are better and patients benefit most.
