Late yesterday afternoon, Kenya Airways and France’s Rubis Énergie signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to develop the first dedicated Dragonfly sustainable aviation fuel refinery on the African continent. This is a moment we’ve been working towards for a while now, and it’s the sort of historic moment you keep under the radar until it actually happens... and until you have a great video showing that the agreement was finalised in the presence of two world leaders. Here, his Excellency Dr. William Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya, and His Excellency Mr. Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, have just witnessed the MOU signing by George Kamal, CEO of Kenya Airways, and Jean-Christian Bergeron, CEO of Rubis Énergie. Rubis has partnered with Dragonfly and Kenya Airways in the first announced implementation of our innovative business model. Dragonfly provides the secured feedstock, engineering, and our factory-built refining technology, and Rubis uses their existing infrastructure and distribution supply chain to blend and deliver the SAF to their existing customer, Kenya Airways. More of the new videos we’ve made will follow in the next few posts.
