When, Mike Burgess, the former Director-General of the #Australian #Signals Directorate (ASD) and current head of the #Australian #Security #Intelligence #Organisation (#ASIO), tells you we need to take steps to counter #nationalsecurity #threats presented by increasingly prominent, organised and violent far-right #extremism, #terrorism, #whitesupremacy and #online #radicalisation in #Australia, we would be wise to pause and listen. Shielded from public criticism by masquerading as 'talk', 'sarcasm', 'irony' or 'parody', the joke has now worn thin, thanks in no small part to the tireless work of people like Andre Oboler and #OHPI, who I had the privelage of working with on a report in which we foreshadowed many of Burgess' recent remarks: https://lnkd.in/f2-uJtu So, now recognised as national security threats that intersect with many domains of #cybersecurity, how will the #cyber and #informationtechnology #industries respond?
