► Rethinking the White Cube (1) or Why I Wrote The Failure of the White Cube This is what some of my colleagues asked me: Why did I spend almost ten years researching the white cube? It all started with a professional crisis while running the exhibition space Matucana 100 in Santiago de Chile in 2015: I realised that the white cube exhibition model I had been using for years simply stopped working. I entered in a curatorial crisis, so to say. That failure became the beginning of a decade-long journey through museum history, curatorial practices, museology and exhibition design—and eventually led to "The Failure of the White Cube". This is the first post in a new series: ► Rethinking the White Cube I hope you enjoy it—and, above all, that it sparks discussion. #Museums #Museology #WhiteCube #MuseumStudies #Curating #ExhibitionDesign #MuseumArchitecture #Routledge #RoutledgeArt #TheFailureOfTheWhiteCube
