More than 45,000 trained teachers in Ghana are currently waiting for a posting. At the same time, more than 42,000 people teaching in our classrooms right now aren't actually qualified to. A piece by Garth Spencer-Smith on South Africa's teacher supply paradox sent me looking for our own numbers. I found them, and I don't think they're a supply story at all.
