"Too many people to catch up with in one evening!" "Argh...just not enough time to catch up properly with you all! The evening simply flew by!" "Such a great turnout - just wish we had more time to catch up." Some of the comments on the whatsapp group after my medical school reunion this weekend in London, UK. I absolutely felt the same way. I remember excitedly looking around the venue at all these familiar faces, some that I had not seen for decades. The feeling reminded me of a Oscar-winning film title. Everything. Everywhere. All At Once. It truly did feel like that. So many people. So much to talk about. So little time to reconnect. So instead of everything, everywhere, all at once... ...how about a little something, kept in one place, every so often? My solution for that little something, is a short, true personal story that has been pre-prepared and audio-visually recorded with my help. My one place is an online repository where people from my medical school graduating class can privately access to view them in their own time. My every-so-often is releasing one story from one of our batchmates every month. A bite-size digestible so people can hear what people have been up to since graduation. And I am sure that on the special occasions when we do get together in person, it would just make the experience even more connecting, and less stressful. I am very much looking forward to embarking on my mini digital oral history project. I have my first storyteller booked in for Friday afternoon. Exciting! Stories from before, during, and after medical school. How will you stay connected with your graduating class from school/college/or university? p.s. As you can see, I...like....big hugs and I cannot lie.
