Officially became a member of the DGK Fachgruppe Mikrobiologie und Betriebshygiene — the expert working group on Microbiology and Operations Hygiene within the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Kosmetik e.V. 🧫 🔬 The group brings together scientists from across the cosmetics industry — from Henkel and Beiersdorf to Symrise AG, BASF Personal Care, and Evonik Personal Care — to work on the microbiological and hygiene questions that matter in practice. Current projects include position papers on preservation challenge testing, lab comparability, and the relevance of water activity (aW) for cosmetic product safety. And yes — the microbiome is very much part of the conversation. 🦠 Which makes this feel like a natural home. What I'm most happy about though, is the people. This is a genuinely outstanding group — scientifically sharp and just as good on the human side 🩵 .
