On the eve of the 27th Austrian Congress of Women Journalists the outstanding achievements of female journalists were honored with the coveted “Lion” 🦁 trophies in the Industriellenvereinigung. ⚜️Maria Rauch-Kallat, former Federal Minister responsible for the areas of environment, health, youth, family and women, is the initiator of the „MedienLÖWIN“ prize and being committed to promoting women in leadership positions she also is Founder and President of Club alpha (Hildegard Burjan Institut), Mentory Club, TechWomen. 🦁 The media lion went to ORF.at under the direction of Julia Ortner for reporting on the Pelicot case, the media lioness in gold went to FALTER VERLAGSGRUPPE chief reporter Nina Horaczek for her life's work to date, and the media lioness in silver went to Veronika Mauler for her Ö1 Journal panorama report. By the way, she was also nominated for the a.g.e Award in the “Media” category and made it to the final of the top three.
