We have introduced the first port-based Container Terminal Inset Certificates scheme at our Southampton terminal, giving customers a new way to reduce Scope 3 emissions. Starting this April, emissions reductions achieved at Southampton have been converted into verified credits, automatically applied to qualifying cargo as part of our Carbon Inset Programme. In its first year, the programme registered more than 250,000 TEUs and delivered over 9,000 tonnes of CO₂e savings. We are focused on delivering practical decarbonisation solutions, independently verified by Bureau Veritas and 123Carbon. Registered programme users who move containers into the UK through our ports can now access carbon credits to address residual emissions for container ships, tug boats and container terminal operations.
