So, this happened to me yesterday I applied for a Job on this blue app and I was redirected to Teams Chat. It felt a little weird, so I braced myself for whatever will be coming next. Then Gbam!!!, a few messages later, they asked for my LinkedIn email address and password so they could "securely access" my account and optimize it professionally. I expected such a move, but not exactly requesting for my login details!, I mean who does that? Anyway, It got me thinking, though. When you're actively job hunting, it's easy to let your guard down because you don't want to miss an opportunity. Someone offering to improve your profile can sound like they're genuinely trying to help. But no legitimate recruiter or career professional should need your LinkedIn password to help you optimize your profile. I declined, but I can't help wondering how many people have said yes, believing they were taking a step closer to landing their next job. Please, be aware, there are predators out there. anyone who asks for your LinkedIn login details, treat it as a major red flag. Has anyone else come across something like this during their job search? #JobSearch #LinkedIn #ScamAwareness #CareerTips #CyberSecurity
