As part of our ongoing commitment to inclusion, Dornan hosted a Building Inclusive Workplaces Beyond June panel discussion, led by our Wellbeing Advisor, Marcin Maj. We were delighted to welcome Laura O'Donovan (She/Her) Calvert, Head of Business Development at the Irish Centre for Diversity, and Amy Martin, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Partner at John Sisk & Son Ltd. Both speakers brought powerful professional insight and lived experience to an honest conversation about LGBTQ+ inclusion, allyship and creating workplaces where people feel safe to be themselves. The discussion explored the emotional burden of “wearing a mask” at work and the energy it takes to hide parts of who you are. When people feel accepted, they can focus that energy on their work, their ideas and their contribution. Laura and Amy also reflected on the importance of supportive environments, especially for those who have had to overcome challenging circumstances. The conversation was a reminder that inclusion should not depend on individual resilience alone; workplaces have a responsibility to create cultures where everyone can thrive. Supporting the LGBTQ+ community beyond Pride Month starts with everyday actions: using inclusive language, avoiding assumptions, wearing visible signs of allyship throughout the year, and approaching conversations with respect and genuine curiosity. True inclusion is built through consistent behaviours, not just once-a-year campaigns. We are proud to continue building a workplace where everyone feels seen, respected and able to belong. #TeamDornan #Pride
